Every Christmas Eve, we try to do something together as a family. This year we went on a hike on a mountain near our home. The weather was great–in the high 40s and low 50s.

My parents bought this hand-painted ornament in the Netherlands several years ago, and it has become my favorite.
Normally, you might have expected this at the end of October, but we never got around to it. But the Sunday after Thanksgiving, ~K~ asked (nagged) us to do it. I finally relented after the thought of roasted pumpkin seeds (yum!)
We don’t celebrate Halloween, but instead relate our Jack-O-Lantern to the Pumpkin Patch [...]

Throughout December, I’ve been posting photos that I’ve taken throughout 2007.
I’ve obviously overrun my time, and have still not posted anything from November or December. (Although I have managed to post something every day in December.)

In October, the maple tree in our front yard started out with a tinge of orange on the top.
It reminded me of the scene in “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” where Aslan is in the Witch’s castle and breathes on each animal that has been turned into stone.
