Accused Spammer

No, honest! It’s not true!

I got this reply back from my ISP’s postmaster after trying to send an e-mail to my sister:

Recipient: [m****@*****.com]
Reason: Service unavailable; Client host [www.xxx.yyy.zzz] blocked using bl.spamcop.net;
Blocked - see http://www.spamcop.net/bl.shtml?www.xxx.yyy.zzz
Please reply to [postmaster@******.net] if you feel this message to be in error.

My message was blocked because e-mails from my IP address were considered spam!

“But officer, there must be some mistake!”

A later message today seemed to go through OK. My sister is not a big e-mailer, so I haven’t heard from her yet as to whether or not she actually got the message.

Methinks the spam filter is a little too picky.
