The Offending Section

One thing I forgot to mention about Day 2 was the section of the rotten flooring that started the whole mess:

This was the section underneath the shower through which the water came out of the shower. 

Actually the whole thing was a mess.  As we tore the shower apart, the evidence of water damage was everywhere.  Hopefully, we can come up with a solution for the new shower that doesn’t leak like a sieve.

Day 2 – Finishing the Tear Down

Note:  I’m post dating this to our actual Day 2.  I didn’t have the energy to post this weekend.

There wasn’t as much progress on day 2 as day 1, but we overdid it on the first day, so we took things a bit slower.  We were able to remove the rest of the bathroom. This is at the end of day 1:

There was cement under the tile floor in the shower and in the rest of the bathroom, and we had to pound it into rubble (with the help of ~D~ and ~K~  and shovel it out by the garbage can load.

Sore muscles all around!
