In honor of the first day of school, I wanted to mention one of the technology updates that we’ve added this year.
In the past, the kids have had dictation, spelling words, etc. that my wife had to either give to them manually, or pre-record on a tape player for them to play back. They also had geography songs, grammar songs, bible verse songs that they had to listen to as part of their school day.
This year we got cheap ($10) 1GB MP3 players for them to use. My wife can record their dictation directly on the MP3 player and has already created spelling lessons for them to listen on their own so that they can self-check their words and correct themselves when they get it wrong.
Of course, the boys thought they were for listening to AIO while they do their chores.
If anyone has other creative ideas for this technology, I’d be interested in hearing them.
