As a family, we’ve been training for the Jingle Bell 5k race in December. Last year, I ran it solo, but we’ve decided to make it a goal for the whole family to run the race this year.
As part of that, the boys have been going through the Couch to 5K (C25k) running program to get them ready.
This past week was the 9th and final week of the program and we decided to have a family “Drumstick Dash” 30 minute run as part of the final week of training.
The boys chose a local half mile walking track as the venue for the race.
~A~ came along for coaching, moral support, and as training ballast.
After the run (which ended up being just under a 5k), we played at an adjacent playground–~A~’s favorite part of the adventure.
A successful event all around. We may need to make this an annual event!
